Photo viewer displays low quality images

When viewing images on both the webview and the Android mobile app, the displayed photo is of a low quality. Is there any way to tell clients to view the original image file instead of using this reduced resolution (or configure the quality settings in any way)?

Dug around on my own and did not find anything but a few old posts from people asking about this but never getting an answer.
