leisure=fitness_centre has an icon and the name is rendered in green text, even combined with building=*. leisure=sports_centre has no icon, and the name is only rendered in green if not tagged with building=*. When a building is tagged as a fitness_centre there is no indication that the tag is present. This seems to incorrectly indicate that leisure=sports_centre is a less important tag. IMO it would be better to render sports_centre the same as fitness_centre, although probably with a different icon. Maybe even a set of icons for common values of sport=*?
That we render leisure=sports_centre - which is predominantly used on polygons - as a landcover tag with fill and label while we render leisure=fitness_centre - which is predominantly used on nodes - as a POI tag with point symbol and label. That is already discussed to some extent in Render name of leisure=sports_centre in green italics #2930.
That our treatment of ambiguous name tagging (like with leisure=fitness_centre + building=yes + name=X - where it is semantically unclear if X is the name of the building or of the fitness centre) is not very consistent. Discussed in a different case in Do not render building names if they are also a power feature #4739.
