I would like to choose a session ID rather than getting assigned a random one.

As a fallback, I would like to get shorter session IDs that can be easily communicated over the phone. I am fine with somewhat reduced security that comes with this, especially since I will be using the feature together with a public key.

Is that possible?

I'd like to second this, my friend lives far away and is having trouble with his laptop, and I have to type in the entire string to get into his computer. It would be so nice if teleconsole -i 12buntu -I sessionName let you choose a session ID. Of course I think it would be smart to only let that work with the -i option.
