this is a two-part request, I think, so feel free to split it up or modify!

  1. thema should emit errors for invalid lenses when the cue file is loaded (instead of silently failing Translate()
  2. thema should return explicit error messages when there are missing required lenses, or too many lenses, or a lens for the wrong versions, etc ...

Some of this is already in progress: main...sdboyer/backcompat-checking
