I got a problem in my company project, that is, GPS location signals(Latitude/Longitude) were not precise occasionally. So, I googled this issue and then read a great official blog, Improving urban GPS accuracy for your app.

I noticed several important points, as follows:

  1. "Google Play services 3D mapping aided corrections currently supports pedestrian use-cases only."
  2. "Android’s 3D mapping aided corrections automatically works when the GPS is being used by a pedestrian in any of the 3850+ cities, on any phone that runs Android 8 or later."
  3. "We will also soon support more modes including driving."

As for our company business, we use mainly the cycling mode(including electric bicycle). However, this blog mentioned only pedestrian mode and future driving mode.

So, I want to know if the cycling mode is already contained by "3D mapping aided corrections" or not? If not, what's the plan to release the next new version(Fused Location Provider API, FLP)?

In addition, our business is basically based at NewYork, Manhattan area. So, the case I met is according with the word "skyscrapers" mentioned in the blog above.

Thanks for your reading!
