Hi,

Today suddenly it doesn't show any content of the words, no text... And can't re-scan the dictionaries also. How to fix it?

Thanks

Clearing all the data fixes it.

I was wrong. Clearing all the data only fixes it temporarily. The problem still insists after a few times closing and opening.

A user reports on GD forum that the breakage is due to an update to Google Chrome's webview: http://goldendict.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=48483

Hi, I work on Chrome. It would be extremely helpful if you could tell me how to download your app and reproduce this (including test credentials, etc.).

I've opened https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=985491 in our bug tracker. It would be great if folks can provide as many details as possible on that issue.

Uninstalling the "Android System WebView" app and disable it's auto-update from Google Play temporarily solves the problem.

Uninstalling the "Android System WebView" app and disable it's auto-update from Google Play temporarily solves the problem.

By doing so, you're significantly compromising device security. Every WebView update is a security update, and we publicly disclose security vulnerabilities in previous versions, so attackers over the internet may be able to compromise a significant number of apps on your device. I do not recommend downgrading either Chrome or WebView.

We've discovered this is a bug within GoldenDict (it must return the mime type for the pages it expects to load within WebView), and that GoldenDict has created APKs containing their fix (but these APKs are not yet available on the Play Store. Please see this response from the maintainers.

Thanks for the information.
BTW, it seems using the beta version of "Android System WebView" fixes the problem too.
P/s : Just realized GD had provided the link of a fix on the app description, so the best solution is probably go to the app page on Store and install a fix version from that link.

There is a bug where Network Service is currently disabled in M76 beta. This is unintentional, and has already been fixed (for when M76 goes to Stable, and for all future beta releases).
