I like the extension. But it's just too heavy. At least it feels that way. So many settings. For example, I'm bothered by the commit summary above lines (see screenshot below). But I can't find the setting for it. I created this issue to improving the configuration. Some ideas:
Present a configuration wizard after installation. Show images how the result will look like. Or just show this in readme.md. I want the absolute minimum like the pseudo comments after highlightes lines and the integration in the original source control tab to browse commits. In my opinion, this extension adds to many stuff everywhere. I prefer enable over disable stuff. But let the user know what's possible/available.
Not sure what's possible in VSCode. Images in settings? I guess not (yet). Can we create a custom configuration page what opens in a new tab. Not sure if we can change settings from there. But anyway, we could show the basic configuration of the appearance as screenshots with the related settings. So that the user can quickly enable/disable annoying or desired things.
Another idea is to right click e.g. on the header line you see above in the image, and present a context menu with "hide" (disable setting). But this solution will not work for all features (e.g. where right click is not possble).
I'm sure you have other great ideas...
