We should probably put out another release, given the recently-added support for GDAL 3.8 and other improvements.

My wishlist, after skimming the open issues, but by no means definitive:

• Too hard to create a raster with a run-time data type #483
• Change raster and block sizes to usize #495
• Define a policy for the supported GDAL versions #477 - let's settle for Ubuntu LTS-1
• FR: Wrapper for OGR_G_Difference #432
• FR: add wrapper for OGR_F_SetFieldNull #427
• Lift ndarray compatibility into Buffer<T> #494

Stretch goal:

• RasterBand::read_block is unsound #485
• Fix issues with SpatialRef::set_axis_mapping_strategy API. #496

@lnicola I'd suggest us not including #483 in this release. We have lots of nice new features already, and that one feels like it needs some design/debate. Thoughts?

Maybe we should wrap up #493 and add it to the release?

Seems doable, but I don't really feel like messing around with VS (last time I tried to install the DDK and it was awful).

I think it would be really nice to have it, but I don't insist on it being in there if it proves too controversial.
