Actually looks like any monster can charge off screen

Sure, that's normal. I didn't think about this for the boss, it'd be nice to have it as a requirement to slay it in the end: block the entrance, have the path shatter, but if the boss charges in the blocked entrance a few times it breaks the rocks and falls into a whole.

I love how Paper Mario offered creative and alternate ways to kill bosses like that
