Cannot get keyboard to show in search

I have a new Sony Xperia Z3 as part of the "foxfooding" program - Boot2Gecko 3.0.0.0-prerelease. When I open foxcasts, it says I have no podcasts, swipe right...so I do, then click "search", and I get a search box with "What are you looking for?" but no matter what I do, I cannot get the keyboard to pop up....so I can't actually search for anything.

Tapping in other areas is super responsive, like the "Back" arrow or the three line "hamburger" for the menu.
