Provision Docker in Vagrant

I'm trying to work around a Vagrant issue (hashicorp/vagrant#7161 (comment)), but I don't know Puppet. I had a look at https://github.com/garethr/puppet-docker-vnext-example, but there's too much going on there for me to be able to recognize just the parts I need.

Would someone be able to give some distilled pointers as to how to simply get Puppet to install Docker (versus doing that Vagrant's automatic way)? I'll bet it just takes a few lines in Vagrantfile and a directory/file here or there.
