Fix Twitch #537
Comments
So, what's the workaround with a Twitch account? I don't see the option to enter my credentials. |
The workaround that lets you use a Twitch account will require an extension update. |
Ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. |
For anyone coming across this now that the 24h outage window is over: I expect Twitch updates to be broken completely starting May 11th. I don't know what time zone, whatever Twitch feels like is the May 11th they want to do. |
I'll carry this over from the discourse support thread:

Ahh, I see why it wasn't working now. I was getting really confused until I finally went and looked at the discourse thread adn here. Twitch is really annoying since it requires you to have a Twitch window open to get notifications.. and Twitch is one of the heaviest, most awfully CPU intensive overheads to leave idle, even on the main or a light page. Only Youtube is comparable. Just tossing a hat in that this is a great extension and I hope to see this fixed, even if it requires the workaround! Thanks for it in general, it worked extremely well till then. |
It made me sad to read this. Since I use your extension everyday, I figured out a dirty way to temporarily fix it and made a Step-by-Step Manual. I understand now, why it is not easy to adapt to Twitch's changes. Thank you for providing and maintaining such an excellent extension! |
Yay, thanks Twitch. That's all I'll write here. Oh, and it'll probably be a while until I get that fixed. It also makes it so you can no longer use the extension without a Twitch account. Neat, right?
