Transitioning from version 6.3.0 to current #12316

Hello all; We are using version 6.3.0 and would like to update to a current version of Foundation, which appears to be 6.7.4 at this time. We couldn't locate any discussions on this. We are concerned about the new class changes that could break our infrastructure.

I would recommend that you look through the release notes from the version that you are running to the current version. I'm sure that there are a lot of good fixes and new features that you could use. |

I am also considering upgrading from 6.6.3 to current 6.7.4 and have read the Release Notes. Very happy to see you have revived Foundation. Is there a way I can hire someone for a support phone call so I can ask some questions and have them walk me through correctly upgrading my environment to the current version? I cannot risk trying on my own and breaking something that I do not know how to fix. My last installation of 6.6.3 was done from scratch as a new project successfully with Foundation CLI so that I could use Sass which is currently working great with 6.6.3. However, anytime in the past that I have tried to upgrade Foundation versions (5.x), I always get command line error messages (various package managers?) I'm not technically qualified to deal with and Sass functionality no longer works which I really benefit from. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn how to do this correctly from someone who knows how so I can do this myself going forward as the platform progresses and will pay generously for the support call. Thank you. |

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. I’m not able to get this to work. I really do not know what I am doing with the terminal/command line and bad things always happen that I do not know how to recover from. Is there anyone that could do a phone call with me to walk me through this process and help me troubleshoot the various error messages that will arise?
I realize this is trivial for most developers but I’d appreciate getting it right and then knowing how to sustain this myself going forward. I will gladly pay $100.00 (Venmo or any other convenient method) for a phone call.
I have been working for months on upgrading an old 5.5.3 site to what is currently 6.6.3, it is looking and working great, and want to get this upgraded to the latest version and tested before I roll out.

You can run yarn upgrade foundation-sites to upgrade Foundation to the latest version in your build. You should not need to upgrade your code. There were no breaking changes.

Thanks @joeworkman ... when do you estimate support for Node@16.x? I am currently on FS6.6.3 but I think will have to hold off on upgrades until it fully supports node@16. |
