Sega arcade boards are very important to understand their architecture decisions, since unlike all the other manufacturers, they also had this business. Here's a few additions i'd make to make the progression clearer and explore new sides of its hardware without being too taxing:

-(New Article) Colecovision+SG-1000: It's rumored that the SG-1000 was originally a Colecovision rebrand for the Japanese market, due to very similar architecture and the two form factor of being sold as a console and a computer. Don't quote me on that, a bit more of research would be needed, but the similarities are enormous. It would give Sega's console line a more logical start technology wise.

-Master System: Small System 1/2/E section showing the improved capabilities of these boards. The MS's video chip has features largely inspired by System 1 video hardware, which in turn can be seen as a very buffed MS, with twice the sound channels and more graphical capabilities, while System E itself is a reformed MS with slightly better hardware.

-Mega Drive: Likewise, small section nodding to Sega System hardware (16/18/24/C). In this case it's much more intricate, since System 16 was basically the blueprint for the MD, with System C being MD's upgrade for low-end arcades. The Super Scaler series and System 32 are pretty out of scope for the series, i think.

-Saturn: Section for Sega Titan Video? Not much to gain since the hardware is largely the same, but in the other hand could be very easy to add some info. The other active hardware at the time, the Model series is different from anything sega has put out on consoles, so i think it's also out of scope,

-Dreamcast: Section for Naomi 1/2 and Hikaru, which use largely the same hardware.
