I have set the option to show the tab "Notes" to visitors, but webtrees does not show notes when logged out. The person, wife, and parents have been dead for over 100 years. So privacy should not matter.

You have set the tab "Notes" to be shown to visitors.

What privacy settings do you have for "Note objects"?

If these are hidden, then there will not be any notes to display.
So if the notes tab is empty, it will not be shown.

There is no setting for "Note objects" in my tree. At least I didn't find one.

Schau mal, was Du in den Einstellungen > Module/Personenseite/Reiter > Notizen eingestellt hast. Dort kann eingestellt werden, wem der Reiter angezeigt werden soll (Besuchern, Mitgliedern etc.).

As you can see in the top image: the tab "Notes" should be visible to visitors.

If the notes tab has no content, then it is not shown. Content includes

  1. notes (!)
  2. add a new note links (for editors)

So, perhaps the note tab has no content?

So, perhaps the note tab has no content?

There are 3 shared notes for that person.

I just tested using https://dev.webtrees.net/demo-stable/. There is a shared note "Test" in that tree. As the moderator, I was able to add this shared note to a person. Then I logged out. The "note" is still visible! So in the demo environment, it is working as expected. There is a problem in my environment. I have now to disable all custom modules and check again.

Hallo Hermann, do you have new findings? I tried with my test db: the note tab is shown if logged out. I have no restriction activated.
