There are 2 problems with the current drag indicator:

The colour is not synced with the primary colour
When mouse is moved to the middle of the 2 elements, the drag indicator disappears and the drag action is not registered.
When the item is dragged, the border is not rounded for some reason, need to fix that or display a better preview without the drag and trash icon
