Won't boot unless i "restart", which deletes all my config and installs + no sound in games

As the title indicates, i haven't found a way to start the VM without restarting, which forces me to re-install the game i wanna play.
Is there a way to either avoid restarting? (reset is stuck in a black screen, possibly forever, or else it is TOO slow and unresponsive)

Also, my games have no sound, even the ones that seemingly come with this, like doom. I installed two other games and they also have no sound. I dunno how to fix this on my end.

Hope there's a fix or workaround to these things. I'd be ok with restarting as long as i have sound tbh
