What are .k, .v2m and .vfx files and how to use/edit them?
Any OSS software to use them?

Hi @Maniues .

Himself interested, but editing software only if you write yourself. There is only a player (https://github.com/jgilje/v2m-player) and plugins for players to play .v2m.

It seems that instead of writing a full-fledged editor for these formats, it would be much easier to write converters - either in the form of standalone applications or plugins - between them and the widespread ones for which popular editors exist.

Is there any option to convert these files to other formats and combine them with FR Public tools?

Hi @Maniues .

Script v2mdump (https://github.com/Sound-Linux-More/v2mdump) can decompose V2M into MIDI and packed samples. But what to do with them next?

If I had a script to compose into V2m I would edit midi/audio and recompose it into a V2m.
What about .k files?

How to open/edit them?

Well, you can open them with werkkzeug3. Note that the kkrieger files won't work - the werkkzeug3 build that they used seems to be lost.
