More of a reminder to myself,

Move Non-Actionable Issues to Discussions

  • For active repos, convert non-actionable issues (like general advice requests) to GitHub Discussions if available.
  • Goal: Foster community and communication for folks who want to talk about using a package. Keep issue tracker for actionable items and shift discussions elsewhere.
  • Maintainers can opt-out of discussion notifications to focus on issues.
unedited thought , but for some issues that are opened on more active repos, a good solution besides closing as not something actionable (eg people looking for help/advice which is not debugging their app for them) would be to move the issue to Github Discussions. You can do that for any issue of the repo has Discussions enabled.

Goal being to foster communication and community, but keep the intent of the issue tracker clear. Some people really do wanna have a discussion about using express, and thats something we should foster but allow maintainers should to opt out of following via issue notifications.
