You need to convert it to TIFF https://cloudconvert.com/woff2-to-ttf this is how i did it.

To safe anyone else a step, here's a zip containing the converted Virgil.ttf font:

The @transitive-bullshit 's exported version has font family name Virgil 3 YOFF, on MacOS that could not be changed. So I had to download the Font Forge app and export the .woff2 fonts with simple Virtil name. To save you the work, here is my version where the Font Family name is only Virgil.

My use-case is exporting excalidraw images as .svg and then displaying them in other apps than the browser.
