@LauraMorreale and I are trying to get a bilingual edition set up on EVT 2, following the instructions in the 1.3 release notes in the attached files. However, it appears that 2 beta may not support translation quite yet. Is this the case? If so, how can we help?

This is a specific use case of issue #10 Handling of multiple texts / versions of a text and as anticipated it was too complex a feature to be implemented for the beta2 (which is going to happen within June). The good news is that it will surely be implemented in EVT 2+, so my suggestion would be to use EVT 1.3 for testing reasons, and then move to EVT 2+ as soon as it is ready for prime time; the bad news being, that's not going to happen before 2021. If you want to be involved in work on this feature please let us know, the current code is open already in the https://github.com/evt-project/evt-viewer-angular repository: we are basing all new work on the Angular 9 (and later) framework.

There's also a chance that we will look into this for an enhanced EVT 2js version, after the beta2 has been released.
