I have a similar problem: after upgrading clients to Ubuntu 18.04 (server is Debian Stretch), but only on some clients. On a non-working client:
On a working client:
(exactly the same...) On the server:

URGH! Just retrying after some minutes seems to "fix" the non-working clients, at least in my case. |

Hi guys, please note that epoptes-client 0.5.10 isn't supported, as so many things have changed with 1.0 and the python3/gtk3 rewrite. |

@alkisg What is the right solution for this case? |

As I said, epoptes 0.5 isn't supported, so the solution is to use the new 1.0 one. |

Can you paste now the versions of all the packages, epoptes, epoptes-client and vnc? |

It's not the same thing, the last time you ran that command you had epoptes 0.5. |

The problem is that epoptes client is NOT running as root. You should be seeing TWO epoptes-client processes there, one of them as root. Please mention the Ubuntu flavor / desktop environment that you are using. If you don't know what that is, please run: |

OK I think I got it. If so, the solution would be to run on the clients:

I do not know what to do anymore I'm lost. Now, apparently, it only has the epopte-client running, but even so, I still can not monitor it. I am sure that I have done all the steps you have instructed me.

Previously, you mentioned:
Does this work now that you have the root epoptes-client running? Also, after you answer the previous question, please try this: |

This is very strange, it looks like it isn't even trying to run vnc on the client. |

Remote support revealed that the last issue was broken network configuration, with the following simple test:

And the solution is? Forcibly enable IPV6 or disable it? |

This isn't an epoptes problem but a networking one; |

I tried disabling ipv6 on client and server but it did not work at all. |

I got the same "listening" not followed by other messages, but have had no way to dig deeper, yet. |

I have clients that use ubuntu 16 and I have server that uses ubuntu 18.
Some time ago Monitor and assistit functions it stopped working but I can still view the screen thumbnails.
What could be happening? I have already updated the clients and the server and nothing of working again.
