Should we include the benchmarking plots (simulated load duration cuves vs historical LDC) inside the master banch?
If yes, how should we do this? in a notebook?

A good way would be to add a postprocessing function that automatically generates the benchmarking plots. For that we need to hardcode the historical load duration curves in a concise way. I can deal with that.
I think it is no worth delaying v.2.3 for that though. We can just show the resulted plot on the release note/README/tweet ..
