Could you please clarify the following?

1. In the documentation it is mentioned that the field "lts" can be a date also. Does this mean that it will be the date by which the product will have full support? In short if the field "lts" is a date what does it imply?
2. If the field "support" is a date, what does it imply?
3. If the field "discontinued" is a date, what does it imply?

1. The LTS field is either true if this is an LTS release, false if it's not, or the date when the release will be considered LTS in some cases. An example of such product is https://endoflife.date/jenkins, with LTS versions picked in the latest release and not decided in advance.
2. If support is a date, this means when this date is reach the release cycle is at the end of support. The field would be better named eos (end of support) imo.
3. If the field "discontinued" is a date, this means the product is discontinued starting that date.

The lts field is a boolean when the LTS status of a release is known from the start. But sometimes it's not known in advance and the release become LTS after its initial release date. In this case the field is set to the date when the release is considered LTS.

The lts field does not affect the end of support per se. It just indicates that the support duration of the release will be longer than usual.

If eol is a boolean what does it imply? what will be the EOL date if the eol field is true or false?

If eol is a boolean it means:

• When true, that the release is not supported anymore, but the exact date is not known.
• When false that the release is still supported, but the exact date is not known or hasn't been decided yet.

So in any case if the eol field is set to a boolean, the exact EOL date is not known.

If support is true (boolean) what does it imply, what will be the eos in this case?

This is similar to the EOL field but the value is inverted compared to the eol field (this is why I told the field would be better named eos):

• When false, that the release is not supported anymore, but the exact date is not known.
• When true that the release is still supported, but the exact date is not known or hasn't been decided yet.

Moreover both support and eol denote the end of a support period, but the level of support in each (e.g. what is fixed in each period) is different and varies from product to product. You must refer to each product description to have more details.

The eol field is mandatory whereas the support field is optional (whether it is there depends on the product). So if you only need to know whether or not a particular release is supported, just look at the eol field, it would be simpler.
