Javascript will allow granular customization, although pure css solution is still desirable for some browser that disable js.

Thanks, very much for your very great gift to Xaringan users.
I have been finding that javascript macros are very useful. Lately css grid has seemed to be a promising option. Have you considered comparing your theme with grid? What aspects of javascript might allow even more flexibility? (So far the only good use I have for javascript is to add class and to manually adjust image size, placement, z, orient etc.)
Please let me know if I can contribute in any way. Thanks!

Excellent suggestion re: css grid! I was thinking of it but don't use it myself so need to work on it. Contributions welcome :)
