Sidebar is slow to expand folders containing moderately many (2000) files first time #1332

What Happened?

Expanding a folder containing 2000 small files (not text) was very slow (20 - 30 seconds)

Steps to Reproduce

Open a project containing a folder with thousands of files
Click on the folder to expand it
Wait ... wait ... wait
The folder eventually expands
Closing and reopening the folder is relatively quick

Expected Behavior

Expanding a folder containing lots of files should be reasonably fast (and/or give user feedback) and not block the interface.

7.x (Horus)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)
