Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior:

The following occurs frequently (i.e. 95% of the time) on my machine on Chrome. It was previously working fine, so a Windows update or similar may have introduced the problem. I've not (knowingly) installed any plugins or settings that would change it. Firefox still works correctly.

When clicking on a the text search bar in the discover window, a search is run. When hovering over, a hand pointer (denoting a link frequently appears) The expected behavior is to see a I-Beam cursor and be able to edit the search query.

It looks like what may be happening is that the dropdown for recent searches is appearing over the top of the text field rather than below it.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Load browser
  2. Visit Kibana
  3. Click on Discover and wait for first search to complete
  4. Move mouse cursor over search text field (observe wrong pointer)
  5. Click. (observe search instead of edit)
