AFAIK we still need this for maintenance builds, you can empty it (delete everything and create README about the move) similar to the PDE.build or eclipse.platform.runtime repo if you want.

@laeubi maintenance work might require commits to maintaince branches.

@laeubi we (should) already protect the master branch in all our repos to avoid undesired direct pushes. As least I requested that int the past for all repo I knew of.

Today I'm bit distracted a the moment with private and business events but I might be able to do it tomorrow. But it is really easy in case you want to do this: Open a navigator / explorer, delete all files in your local clone except .git and Readme.md, write "We moved..." into the Readme.md, commit locally and push + PR.
