Dynamoose Pagination works wierdly with query

I'm trying to run the below query

let transactions =  await this.dataProvider.get_model()
			.query({ organization, ...query, deleted: false })
			.limit(limit)
			.exec()

Here dataProvider is just an encapulated dynamoose model.
Here organization is indexed. Query can contain any other field from the table. When running this, the filters in query are getting applied after the limit. Is this an expected behavior or am I doing something wrong?
