PROs:

might be a better fit than custom events,
and it's still native to the web platform,
no framework/dependency rule compliant,
it's just gonna need a micro lib,
plus it will remove much of the load from the UI thread,
and this app has a lot of parts that need to do continuous complex calculations,
which have no place on the UI thread,
