I've been using DuckDuckGo iOS in a slow connection for the last week and an annoying issue keeps happening consistently, below is a video showing the bug and the steps to reproduce.

Please let me know if this is an issue you would like fixed and what would be its priority, I'm happy to try fixing it myself next week if no one else jumps on it.

Video

Steps to reproduce

  1. Type something in the search bar and press GO
  2. Quickly clear the search bar and type something else

Expected behavior - I can keep typing and start a new search
Actual behavior - The search text I'm typing is overwritten with the search term previously typed

Note: It's easier to replicate the issue if you use a network link conditioner, on iOS it's on Settings > Developer > Network Link Conditioner and set the profile preset to "Very Bad Network"

Environment

App versoin 7.108.0
Device iPhone 11 Pro
iOS 17.2.1
