As of version 1.5.2 of the image, the rpi4-eeprom-updater service has been added, to automate the upgrading of the RPi4's bootloader and VL805 (USB) EEPROM firmware, patterned on the official rpi-eeprom deb. This service has no effect on the RPi3. For further details, please see this post.
