Information regarding isolating network from main computer network

I was trying to find a mechanism to use openvpn while being completely isolated from my network so I can prevent leaking network activity such as browser activity and any background updates.

I was trying to find some information about this for dockovpn but couldn't see anything for example in the FAQ: https://dockovpn.io/docs/faq/

Could you share some information regarding network isolation, including recommended settings, and caveats.
