This is something I am looking in at the moment, the plan is to manage to answer this when I figure it out.
I am guessing the colorscale is (are) set to the range [min_int, ?]. Is the max computed in a way to be way below the max intensity in the map? Is this because the colorscale is meant to affect the background rather than the spots?
So far I think the following are true: 1)The brightness doesn't seem to affect the colorscale range above a certain value and 2) stacking is also not causing to range to change above a certain value. It is not clear to me how the colorscale is sensitive to these two parameters. With the rainbow colorscale all peaks are caped at red (on blue background alas) if I stack 10 images.
I am looking for a way to control the max of the cs range. The reason is that I want to stack a lot of images and see some form of pattern rather than just white on black. It could be that image_viewer is not meant for that.
Follow up: where is yellow in greyscale stacked up images (didn't see it in individual images) coming from?
