I noticed that if you quick save regularly during a playthrough, eventually the audio will start to crackle and start becoming more corrupted sounding. I wasn't sure if it had anything to do with the game's mixing, or if it's because I have a sound card that could output 32bit, 384000Hz audio. I did turn the sample rate down to 192000Hz during another playthrough, but eventually the same issues will begin to persist after a period of doing a quick save after a few encounters.

And this doesn't happen if you don't quicksave?
What if you use "normal" saves (through the menu)?

Do you have another soundcard that supports more common formats (like 44kHz or 48kHz at 16bits) to make sure the problem really has anything to do with the audio format and/or soundcard?

Also, what operating system are you using, and what version of OpenAL-Soft? If it's not latest OpenAL-Soft, can you try that?
