Hey @dfaust!

I hope you're doing great. Happy new year!

I don't know your motivation too much, but I love this piece of software, I can't find anything better and I wish it would be improved. I know you'd rather drop working on it, but maybe we could convince you with little extra money?

What'd you say if I'd ask you to choose from proposed enhancements so far, so you could list and estimate your effort for them, then just name your price for this effort.

Would it work for you or this is still not something you're looking for? Don't get me wrong, I'd like this software to improve, I'm not a developer, just an user so I'd like to motivate you or at least understand your approach here. I have nothing against paying for good job.

I wonder whether these people who asked for enhancements would be interested in participating in this bounty: @Imruska @breversa @wolftune @luziferius @ShalokShalom @Soukyuu @SanKro @goetzc @drydenp @cesalca @cwmke @matevz @ghost

Thanks for your feedback, happy new year one more time!

Hi @kokosowy and @breversa,

thank you for your interest in my project. That means a lot to me. The problem is, that interest in soundKonverter just isn't big enough to keep it going. User behaviors are changing. I myself used soundKonverter a lot in the past, but not any more. And between my job and my new side project, I just don't have the time to keep working on it. And I'm afraid a little bit of money - as generous as it is - won't change that.

Greetings,
Daniel

Hi there! I understand, it was worth a try! I hope then some developer will take over eventually.. Thanks for keeping a maintenance for it anyway!

That's sad, but understandable.

Kudos to you @dfaust for creating the best per-album-tag-grouping algorhythm around ! To me, it THE killer feature of soundKonverter. I'd love to see it implemented in all replaygain-scanners (looking at you, https://github.com/beetbox/beets ! 😀 ).

Hey,

Just wanted to let you know I'm still using soundkonverter, just compiled most recent dev version!

What a coincidence ! I used it last week-end to rip a newly bought CD (some music is NOT available in FLAC on digital stores…), and still have a backlog of old CDs that I plan to rip as well.

What I miss most is automatic bs1770gain (Replaygain) calculation, because doing it by hand is tedious, while soundKonverter’s album-grouping algorhythm is AWESOME ! :D

New OS version onboarded == another SoundKonverter compilation from sources. :-) This time I also updated wiki for Ubuntu Focal-based distros to make life a bit easier for users trying to install SK from sources.

Hey @dfaust maybe you've changed your mind and will make a new release soon, pretty please? ;-) Happy new year all!
