[FR] "git subtree" support

I'm using git subtree to manage the main dependency in one of my projects. (My project is a Python package, and my dependency is a C library which it provides bindings for.)

This project is a cryptographic library, so I would like to try to expedite updates, since they are occasionally security updates.

I see that Dependabot has support for git submodule. Is support for git subtree planned?
