I can imagine that v3 is a big change and probably not all the things that were available in DDVK can be implemented.
But as unfortunately my RM2 just decided to update itself to v3 ( :D ) I thought that I will check how that new SW works and what I would be missing to what v2+ DDVK was giving.

What definitely is missing for me:

  1. More pen thickness options
  2. Quick swipe gesture to hide and unhide the menu
  3. Zen Mode to minimize but still see which tool is active

What is nicely implemented in v3 (what in v2 DDVK hack was adding) is Undo and Redo actions.
There are other regular benefits of v3 but Im missing those three things mentioned above.

I was wondering if that would be possible to have DDVK v3 in a simpler version focused on the menu improvements.
It may be limited to what DDVK v2 had, but it would still, increase original SW usability and comfort.

And BTW, just a big thanks to @ddvk for your work, for those past 2 years it was a great pleasure to use your hacks on my reMarkable.

I'm now in the process of thinking if I should downgrade to v2 to be able to use again DDVK or if I will stick to v3 and wait for possible DDVK addons in the future.

you can downgrade, but wont be able to edit any notebooks you opened on the new version.

+1 for this request. +1 in thanking @ddvk for helping to make a great product even better.

Oddly, I find myself missing the additional pen thicknesses most. What’s frustrating is that a new notebook will start with a pen width that is perfect. Unfortunately, once one of the three widths is chosen, one can never get back to the initial pen width.

@ddvk Hello o Great One ;)
Asking from curiosity (probably on behalf of others) if there are any chance to support SW version 3.x with DDVK hacks in anyway?

I was just about to move to the 3.4 version but if @ddvk says he will soon work on it I will wait! I love so much this hack!!!!!!

Just bought one today and it's in the mail. Is progress still ongoing?

I bought a rM1 just because of ddvk!

I switched to https://github.com/mb1986/rm-hacks which has some of the (similar) functionality of the ddvk patches.

So has this project been abandoned?

This is interesting, but I could not find what this hack offers. I could not find any description, only the improvements for each new version...

You can find it in the wiki: https://github.com/mb1986/rm-hacks/wiki/rM-Hacks-Documentation

As the DDVK hack is not being updated, I decided to go for this alternative.
The truth is that it is really nice. I like it a lot.
I again have pleasure using my RM2... the original built-in system is too incomplete in my opinion.
