Before creating a feature request

  • I checked the next branch to see if the feature has already been
    implemented

  • I searched existing reports to see if it is already requested.

What is the user problem or growth opportunity you want to see solved?

There's a way to change how text is elided at runtime, but there doesn't appear to be a way to set this via the command line or config file.

How do you know that this problem exists today? Why is this important?

It's not in the next branch.

Who will benefit from it?

This is useful whenever list entries are very long. For example, when you use a list of file path, you care more about the start (which root?) and end (what name and file extension?).
