Scenario when this would be used?

I need more than one group of characters, but not all of them.

If another feature - binding user-defined characters to keys - can be developed, it would be much more useful!

I second that wish. Showing all is just overwhelming, but I need more than just for a single country. One idea would be to offer two modes -- selected vs all characters.
