This is most likely because of the config file merging.

There must be something wrong with the way I merge, but probably the version number shouldn't even be in system.properties. I think it belongs in another fixed file which should not be modified by users.

Maybe in the framework JAR or something?

This should also work around the problem with the about page reporting
the wrong engine version sometimes after an
upgrade (daisy/pipeline-assembly#97) because
system.properties is now always overwritten.
