Summary

Unnecessary CPU usage on desktop app

What software is involved?

  • Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04
  • Cryptomator: 1.2.13

Volume Type

None

Steps to Reproduce

Just run cryptomator

Expected Behavior

When the computer is idle, web browser is closed, the CPU usage normally is around 0%.

Actual Behavior

CPU usage constantly about 3%, which makes laptop battery discharge faster. Even when all volumes are unmounted it uses CPU. Why???

May be related to #2627. We have observed this ourselves and are investigating it. It may be an UI issue. On macOS we noticed that this behavior only starts after at least one vault has been unlocked (and it continues even after the vault is locked again). A freshly started Cryptomator doesn't use much CPU, though.
