how do i compile my code for armv7-unknown-linux-gnueabihf?

Hi I've been trying to compile my code for running on a raspberry pi, but I can't get cross working correctly. the command I use is env CROSS_ROOTLESS_CONTAINER_ENGINE=1 cross build --target armv7-unknown-linux-gnueabihf. There is a local dockerfile that is supposed to work, but I couldn't tell cross to use this image. I am compiling from an x86 pc running ubuntu 22.04 Thanks in advance for the help.
