Understanding device type from the IR capture info

Hello,
When capturing IR data from a remote control (e.g. using the IRrecvDumpV2 example), is there a simple way to understand the type of device controlled by this remote control? What I mean is that I would like to know if this capture belongs to an AC, TV, Audio Receiver, Satellite Receiver, etc.
Will highly appreciate your suggestion on this.

No, some devices even use the same remote.
If it is an AC that the library knows about then you can use that.

@NiKiZe is correct. Protocols get used and reused for all mannor of devices. Even AC ones.
The best the library can offer is IRac::isProtocolSupported(protocol) which will give you a good but not complete indication of if it is an air-conditioner protocol or not.

Understood. I have the AC control part working fine using the high level routines (from IRac.cpp). Now, I would like to add support for non-AC devices (Audio Receiver, TV, Satellite Receiver, etc.) and I am puzzled how to address that as the library does not support these device types in a generic way as it does for AC devices (e.g. no generic TV control APIs). How would you suggest that I address that? Thanks!

You will have to create that mapping yourself on a per device, per remote button, per protocol basis. There is no generic interface. Some manufacturers use common codes across some of their devices. E.g. vol up etc. But in general, each device, remote and protocol combo is unique and different. You'll need to create that table etc yourself. There is nothing this library offers that will help in that respect.

2. I tried a few remote controls at home and seen that they are recognized (e.g. PIONEER, NEC). I assume that I can use the IRsend.cpp routines to send the commands. Right?
3. In case the remote is not recognized, how do you suggest that I handle that?
