I spent several hours on a Project Euler problem of a two-player game by manually finding the best strategies, but the people who solved in minutes evidently used surreal numbers. They seem quite interesting, and there's an article on Sprague-Grundy theorem, so maybe an article on nim-like games.

I skimmed through the surreal numbers article and didn't understand any of it. So I'll have to read it carefully again
