On Mustafa Sarhan's blog he has a method for playstaion 3. http://mustafasarhan.com.au/blog/netflix-on-ps3/ it would be good if we could incorporate this into the current method for devices not supporting SNI.

Ummm.. not so much. The instructions on Mustafa's blog seem to be an almost verbatim copy of the instructions from this site when squid was used for proxying non-SSL content. Later on, I dropped squid in favor of SNI as it could do both SSL (using SNI) and non-SSL.

Still couldn't we use SNI for all device except playstation etc. and use squid for these devices

Squid does not allow proxying of SSL content without MITM style self-generated certificates, to my knowledge.
