Automatic CPTAxisLabelingPolicy should change its formatter for time series depending on what's showing.
For example, if I am showing a time frame of minutes, ticks should have seconds, if I have a time frame of hours, ticks should have minutes and so on.
Even, been able to display just seconds in some cases and minutes + seconds in others would be useful, especially because on iOS devices space is so limited.
Is it supported? If not where should I look to change the behaviour?

Right now, the axis labeling methods always treat the data as a numeric series. They have no way to know about the date series behind the data. For now, it's probably easiest to stick with the fixed interval labeling policy and set the tick interval to the exact interval desired.
Issue #7 requests the ability to provide plot data as dates rather than converting them to a numeric series. If and/or when this is implemented, the axis labeling policies will be updated to work with dates as well.
