Simplify Customers registration process

I am about to remove all required fields for customer registrations and leave only few. Like

Name Surname
Email

:)

Something else?

All the other fields should be filled in after registration or during the first checkout (also simplified).

What are your thoughts about this?

THOUGHTS: Odds are, no one will register for the site unless they’re making a purchase. The fields that are required should be able to be set by the store owner. A store that sells electronic products only will probably only require an email address vs a store that ships products will probably want a full address. But again, I’m just saying that in my experience (and my own personal usage), I don’t think users are registering unless they’re making a purchase.
