builtin generateschema appears to get hung up on a lot issues (including wagtail code once local problems are resolved/ignored)

https://github.com/tfranzel/drf-spectacular however, seems to work without any fuss

I think we can table this for the time being in favor of setting up an explicit metadata page like https://ascl.net/home/getwp/3297
