It may be useful to have a way to distinguish important posts from regular ones. This could come in the form of pinned or starred posts.

Add the ability to have pinned posts for conversations (e.g. a message containing a syllabus, a post that the conversation creator wants new members to see, a link to a pdf of a textbook etc.).

And/or

Add the ability for users to star posts and come back to them at a later time. Create a page to display these starred posts.
